It’s hard to find a band these days that will go outside of the norm and beat down their own path. Hellyeah won’t be mistaken for a band trying to earn a quick buck just because they can scream, beat drums or play guitar.
Why? Because the supergroup that is made up of Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Chad Gray & Greg Tribbett of Mudvayne, Tom Maxwell from Nothingface, and Bob Zilla from Damageplan are as unique and non-conforming as you can imagine. Each of those groups individually carved their way in the industry, and Hellyeah brings the best-of-the-best.
Make no mistake about it: this album brings the best out of their first two and seems to achieve exactly what the band was going for. This is metal at it’s best, and that’s not a trend we’re used to seeing these days.
‘Band Of Brothers’ punches modern heavy music in the mouth. If you liked “Alcohaulin’ Ass”, then “Drink Drank Drunk” is the song that should be in your playlist right now. This song’s title should explain in pretty good detail what it’s about. It starts out with a Pantera-ish, punchy riff and Vinnie’s hard-hitting drums before the vocals jump in and kick you in the lips.
I’ve personally seen Hellyeah live before, and they put on a show like no other. Go check them out, as they’re currently on tour…see the dates here.
This entire album is rock-solid, and ‘Drink Drank Drunk’ had us salivating for more.
